Avatar the Last Airbender made it's debut in 2005 on the children's network known as Nickelodeon. The show's original targeted audience was the 12 to pre teen set. However over time the show has grew beyond that targeted audience and become one of the highest rated shows Nick has ever had.
Avatar consist of 60 episodes separated into 3 seasons. With different episodes combine to form animated TV movies, specials, and even complete chapters. Episodes called, "Chapters" and Seasons are called, "Books." Sozin's Comet: The Final Battle TV Movie was nothing more the last four episodes of the entire series. Which was the highest rated segment Nick has ever had in the complete history.
Now that Avatar is officially over, Nick and the creators plan to expand the series with a new miniseries rumored to be released in 2009 along with 3 60 minute original animated TV movies. A new mulitplayer online game for the PC called, "Avatar Legends of the Arena" and a live action trilogy directed by famous director M. Night Shyamalan. The first movie is set to be released in July 2010.
Does anyone like the series?
