If Americans are paying the costs of rebuilding a country, then let Americans deal with the country. Until you British (or person from any other country for that matter) are willing to do as much for Iraq as the US is, please stop whining. The US isn't getting anything out of this whole deal. What the hell do you people want? Saddam was evil. He needed to be removed. If he is not wise or mature enough to rule decently or even humanely, someone must remove him. For years, he's killed hundreds of thousands of Iraqis, broken dozens of UN treaties, and committed many other unimaginable crimes. YET YOU ARE STILL ON HIS SIDE?!?! WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT?!?! The US gets nothing of value. No oil, no minerals, nothing. If American companies are formed to process Iraqi natural rescources, then Iraqis will be the workers, providing thousands of jobs. THERE AREN'T ANY EXISTING IRAQI COMPANIES, SO THEY CANNOT DO IT FOR THEMSELVES!! Saddam owned all companies of value, so when he was gone, they ceased to exist. Get over it. We do this because we know whats right, and we do what we have to do when we have to do it, which is more than I can say for the UK, France, or any other country out there. Sure the UK helped, a little, but you still complain about us "stupid" Americans being there. Your heart was never in the right place, and you never cared about helping anyone. Hell, if you love Saddam so much, we should just make him Prime Minister of Britain, seeing as how you think he's such a nice guy and all.

You really have to realise that not all Americans are slobby thiefs who are money hungry. Most of us are just like the english...but with much better teeth (sorry, couldn't help myself)

i don't remember ever being on the same side as saddam, i'm just disappointed that after all the war efforts iraq is still in a s**t state, and its getting worse, today saw even more suicide bomb attacks. Oh, and i think that americans accounted for nearly 50% of british casualties so gj lads. (btw, no more xenophobic comments lets keep it clean )

(btw, no more xenophobic comments lets keep it clean ) xenophobic: Noun A person unduly fearful or contemptuous of that which is foreign, especially of strangers or foreign peoples. Other forms xen'o·pho'bi·a n.xen'o·pho'bic adj. have to use a thesaurus on that one? I had to look it up to find out what it means.

ok, that makes sense, but what I don't get is the 50% casualties. Did only two brits die and one of friendly fire or something? Oh, and I don't believe you can blame them helicopter crashes on Americans, cause those happen in EVERY war, along with training deaths, and friendly fire. In fact, more people were injured in training for gulf war 1 then in the field. Something to think about.

i think it was about 17 people died from friendly fire, discarding the crashes. besides, more to the point is how they died. there was a time when an american post shot down a british plane, britsh patrols were ambushed by americans and killed. Some friendly fire is bound to occur, but ambushing your own patrols just takes the p**s

17? well that's not too bad. But yeah, it is pretty bad to "accidentily" (we think it might be accidently, could be revenge for benedict arnold or something) ambush your own troops. Must of been a mix up in communication, but do you remember that a-hole who threw that grenade into his officers tent. I think he was part arab too. Really makes you think.

You know what? I think this has gotten out of hand. There will always be people for or against something, no matter what country you live in. I don't hate Brits for being Brits. I don't hate Americans for being Americans. I don't hate anyone for being themselves. Let's not fight each other based on being British or American or whatever. We've all made our own mistakes, time to put them in the past. We should only fight on ideology, and nothing more.

If the wars on Iraq and Afghanistan had never happened, nor the 9/11 terror attacks, would your opinion of George Bush be any different?

I would think he is just like anyother president. Because all he would be is any other president. But in about 15 years, no one is gonna care about him or what he did. He's going to join the likes of Ronald Regan or some other president who did his job, but that's it. Bush is just like any other president. Really nothing different here. A better question is, do you think anyone will actually be able to remember who their senator is in 1 year?

I don't even know who the hell my senator is now!

The sad thing is, if the senate and house agree, the president is useless. Really makes you wonder about why we get so hyped up over one guy.

heh apparently his new election video out in the US at the moment is causing a bit of stir, showing a body being brought out of the world trade center. Although from what i've heard some are praising him for it and others want his blood.
