Am I the only person not to be caught up in this madness that is the new book? I mean who in their right mind would get up at midnight, go to a shop and QUEUE for the book, when in only 8 short hours the shop will be open anyway, and you'd have spent most of the time asleep. If you awake anyway i suppose its fair enough, but still.......

Rumour has it you were seen queuing for a Harry Potter book as well... that may be so, but I myself was not purchasing the book, merely mocking the girl in our party who was, and mocking others around us in the queue. In particular laughing at the refusal of Woolworths to sell me a bottle of coke. "BOOKS ONLY PLEASE" "BUT I DON'T WANT THE F**KING BOOK" band of idiots tbh :/

lol i personally think harry potter is a bunch of craap so i definately wouldn't lol "a bunch of crap" thats sold millions of copys and inspired 1000's of people to read I'm not obsessed with Harry Potter, and I don't understand people lining up at all hours of he night to get a book. I'll probably read it in a few weeks time when everyone else has gotten over the hype and the "OMG ____ did ____!!!!!1111!!!!!!" stage.

My picture is in the Derby Evening Telegraph as one of the first people to get the book at Waterstones at midnight. I've finished it already

Got the latest one and read it. Best of the series. Man, was it intense at the end. J.K. is a brilliant writer.
Fantastic book, and yes, I'm a very big Potter fan.

i can't help but feel i'm reiterating myself in this thread, so maybe i should say nothing.
On the other hand, I think JK is very clever in that she leaves the optimal gap inbetween books so as to make the most money, and everytime a new book comes out, MORE merchandise comes out, specialised to the film. If i hate anything more than the books, its people who spend a fortune buy "wands" and other wizard stuff, BEARING IN MIND MAGIC DOES NOT EXIST IN THE REAL WORLD.

I won't mention the wand I got my sister for Christmas then...
Seriously, it's just fun. People happen to enjoy a book, and that's what it's about really. The films and merchandise stuff blinds people from the fact that it just happens to be a book people like reading.
To be honest, after the abuse I got on Friday night, I'm getting pretty sick of people being so narrow minded..

The book could have been a load of blank paper bound together in a Harry Potter cover and it would still have sold millions... the fans wouldn't know there was no actual story written until they'd bought the book because they're all so scared of seeing "spoilers" for it.
