So, about the Titanic - Do you think that what happened was due to poor judgement by the Captain of the ship or that there was maybe more to it than just that?
I work with the history channel sometimes and they have a new documentary about a team who made a new discovery that solved some of the mystieries about how and why the Titanic broke apart, even though it was supposed to be "practically unsinkable".
Anyone else going to be looking out for it?

Try as hard as you might, if you drive a boat straight into a huge block of ice I think we all know who's going to win.
Perhaps if there hadn't been such massive hype about it being unsinkable the captain wouldn't have decided to try and power his way there a bit faster (I'm taking this from the film with Leo and Kate, so not sure if this actually happened).

lol Lazyboy, I dont think the captain intentionally hit an iceberg. Apperently the moon wasn't able to light anything that night so icerbergs were undetectable. But I think there's more to it than the iceberg hitting it from the side... i can't wait to watch about what they found though... the link is www.history.com/tiitanic if you want to know more abotu the show.

Lazyboy, no there is no such theory that i know of. But yes maybe that would have been cool if it wasn't sucha tragedy... The documentary was on last night - So the bottom was struck by something that was underneath the ship. I was suprised to see that the new evidence is actually proof that things happened much differently that anyone had previously assessed. So instead fo the ship breaking in half from the deck down, what actually happened was the bottom broke away in the middle cause it to rip from the bottom up as it tipped. Are you confused? I was too, but after seeing the show and everything put together visually I get it now. And sadly we now have a better idea of what the people experienced, which was unfortunately much more horrific than we thought.... sorry about the link being broken, i put two i's in titanic doh!, so the link is actually www.history.com/titanic
