SayBox is running this competition to give all our members a chance to win one of a selection of prizes.
The Competition
- This contest will be run as a league. Points will be awarded in various categories as detailed later in this post.
- The contest will run until the end of August 2004. At midnight, British Summer Time, on the last day of each month during the contest, the league winner for that month will be announced.
- An overall winner will be announced at midnight, British Summer Time, on August 31st, 2004.
The Prizes
- The monthly league winners will be allowed to choose ONE from a number of prize sets.
Set 1a: 20 BoxCoins (only after v3 is released)
Set 1b: 2 months of banner advertising on the SayBox website (only before v3 is released)
Set 2a: Custom title here, and 10 BoxCoins (only after v3 is released)
Set 2b: Custom title here, and a banner in rotation on the SayBox website for 1 month (only before v3 is released)
- More prize sets may be added at any time without notice.
- The overall winner will receive a domain name of their choice registered for 2 years (.com, .net, .co.uk, or .org only), a web template, and 40 BoxCoins (or banner rotation on the SayBox website for 4 months if v3 is not released by this time).
- Whoever finishes in second place overall will receive 30 BoxCoins (or banner rotation on the SayBox website for 3 months if v3 is not released by this time).
- Whoever finishes with most referral points will win a custom title here.
The Categories
Points will be awarded as follows:
- Basic Referral: Refer anyone to join this forum. They must make at least 5 posts, then PM Renegade to give the name of the referrer. 2 points per referral.
- Advanced Referral: Refer anyone to join this forum. They must make at least 10 posts, enter this competition, then PM Renegade to give the name of the referrer. 4 points per referral.
- Forum posts: All entrants will be awarded points for how many posts they make at this forum. 1 point per 50 posts made with posts previously made included in the scoring.
- SayBox Humour 1: Got a SayBox themed joke? Post it, if we think it's any good we'll award a point. 1 point per decent joke.*
- SayBox Humour 2: Got a SayBox themed cartoon (perhaps using the smilies, for example)? Post it, if we think it's any good we'll award points. 2 points per decent cartoon.*
- Taglines: Heard the phrase "SayBox - free remotely hosted shoutboxes"? Come up with a tagline for SayBox and we'll award you points. 2 points per tagline.*
- Smilies: Create new smilies based on the default SayBox ones. 1 point per smiley or 18 points for a full set.*
- Best Website: The "best" website, judged on design and content (in the SayBox staff's opinion) using a SayBox. Judged 24 hours before each monthly deadline, no one website can claim points twice. 20 points for each winner in this category.
- Best Forum: The "best" forum, judged on design and content (in the SayBox staff's opinion) using a SayBox. Judged 24 hours before each monthly deadline, no one messageboard can claim points twice. 20 points for each winner in this category.
- Best SayBox: The "best" use of a SayBox, judged on design, activity, and innovation (in the SayBox staff's opinion). Judged 24 hours before each monthly deadline, no one SayBox can claim points twice. 22 points for each winner in this category.
More categories may be added at any time at the discretion of our staff.
Entering
- Reply to this thread with your SayBox username and a link to the website your SayBox is used on to enter the competition. If you don't have a SayBox, you can still enter (reply with your username for this forum), although you won't be eligible for some of the categories.
- SayBox staff are not eligible to enter this competition.
- At midnight, British Summer Time, on the last day of May 2004, June 2004, July 2004 and August 2004, the league winner for that month will be announced.
- The final closing date of the competition is midnight on August 31st, 2004 (BST), and the overall winner will be announced within 2 weeks of this date.
