Your Plans for the new v4 Proboards

Hope this topic and thread isn't out of place. Since most of us probably have ProBoards what are your plans for the new v4?

Do you plan on backing up the headers and footers?

Are you worried that some scripts and codes might not work after the switch?

Do you plan on going into a maintainence mode to fix, correct or make any adjustments after the switch?

Any suggestions you might offer to some of us for the advent of the new v4 ProBoards?

I have backed up all my custom image links and all our headers and footers. I am not fearful that we will have any particular problems on the LYQOS boards but we are prepared and ready. We are very excited about the new features and look forward to v4.

[/li][li] Yes, as my site's v3.75 will be released on the very same day. Plus, I need to move boards around.

I'm worried that the skin i'm using now won't be updated by the creator for the v4 pb's. It'll mean i'll have to hunt for a whole new skin which has v4 buttons.

That's what I'll do when V4 comes out in a few weeks.

I intend to be in Manchester meeting the Stiff Little Fingers on the 30th Other than that, my plans involve locking a load of v4 threads on PBS

My new forum, they're won't be any changes, it'll mostly be at my first main forum (of almost 3 years).

And then all i'll be doing is transferring the forums from the RPG achive category into RPG sub-forums within each RPG forum in the RPG section.

And similarly maybe re-intituting the Caption contest achrive into a sub forum in the "TF Games & puzzles forum", rather than the seperate forum that lasted briefly (and that i changed my mind about)

But hopefully it'll be mainly the RPG category into sub forums with the rpg forums, which currently remain hidden to guests to stop the forum looking so huge. And hopefully in their new place will be easier to access and be more effecient, space savin all around, as well as letting guests see them at last.

*I will not have Karma on in any of my forums, i believe people can take it too seriously and it can create bad feelings and is generally a bad idea.

I will have the fast reply box on on both my forums.

I do that anyway regularily.

No, it's nothing that can't be taken out.

Only for Total Transformers where the majority of work will be taking place.

Nah...I don't think it's necessary.

Yes, I am in maintainance mode now in anticipation of a "re-opening" with PBV4

Not really, stay calm and everything should work out just fine.

i've already copied away the headers and footers on my trial forum where i'm working on a new skin for my place...apart from that i'm just gonna ride the wave and see what happens when the upgrade takes place...gotta take a few risks in life...it makes it more exciting...

The proboards support forum was upgraded to version 4 on 30th..they are going to start upgrading the other servers when all of the bugs are sorted. "My current goal is to have all the bugs out of v4 by the 4th of this month. After that time I will begin upgrading servers, doing between 5 and 10 per day" is the exact quote from Pat.
