Now heres some stuff about my life at the moment:-
Well, it's time for me to say something that I've been wanting to say for a long time...Where the heck is my shoe>/!
Anyways, there's not much going on in my life except for school. School, luckily is turning out to be much better than last year. Both days in my block schedule are going at an equal pace rather than having one drone on for what feels like years.
The only prolem is my new English class. I have never been a fan of English class at all really. I've always contented myself with grammar tests, but never really accepted essays. I really never liked the idea of people measuring my writing skills when I'm writing about a subject I personally don't care about. But, I have no other choice. This year I'm being attacked by an onslaught of essays and different kinds of non-fiction writings. This emphasis on non-fiction this year is definitely something I'm not fond of. In short, I'm really pissed with the class and I can't wait until Senior year where we will be focusing more on Literature.
Aside from my complaints, something great has happened thanks to that class. The teacher gave us a list of recommended classic novels to utilize as references on essays for the Advanced Placement at the end of the year. One particular novel that caught my eye was "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest." I had known of it, and knew it involved an insane asylum somehow. It made me think of Empty Nights so I decided to get it. Of course, unlike Empty Nights, the story seems to be told entirely within the asylum. Anyways, I'd really like to say that it is a fantastic book so far. There's some great psychological stuff that I really enjoy and there's a very dark atmosphere which is something I'm always fond of. Yeah, so I recommend this book to everyone.
Ooh, and another thing, I have a 4-day weekend due to UEA! I have never known what UEA is my whole life in school. I do have an inkling that the 'U' stands for Utah however, but I still get out of school anyways. So it doesn't matter. I'll be writing a bit more of Empty Nights, some possible humorous short stories, and my drawings of course.
